Spring was in full bloom on April 26th as Columbus State University hosted its annual Spring Swing—an evening filled with energy, community spirit, and charitable giving. On May 10th, the 2025 Wynn House Heritage Ball continued a cherished Columbus tradition. The evening included the presentation of the Cotillion Club Debutantes, held in the historic setting of the Wynn House. Proceeds from the event support the ongoing preservation and restoration of this treasured landmark.

Interior Designer Jenna Gross, originally from Columbus and founder of Colordrunk Designs, has been serving up masterful mixes of pattern and color in homes and commercial spaces since 2013. Tole refers to items and other decorative objects made dating from 1600-1900 made of tinned metal that have been lacquered and adorned with a design. From the French Tole Peinte du Lac (French for “painted sheet metal”), tole painting refers to applying paint and lacquer to tin. It began as a way to prevent common household objects from rusting.

The Dinglewood Historic District is a small residential neighborhood that features the Dinglewood House built in 1859, one of Columbus’ most outstanding homes. The property/estate was 30 acres purchased in 1857 from John Woolfolk, a local farmer and major land holder in what became Wynnton, as well as Fort Benning.

It was owned for seventy years by A. Illges and his descendants. The house was completely updated and decorated by Dina Woodruff using furniture, art, rugs, and accessories from her Atlanta store Peridot West. Renovations on the home were done by general contractor Johnny Cargill of Johnny R. Cargill Construction and architect Jack Jenkins.

With the help of Johnny Cargill of Cargill Design Build Remodel, Inc, Architect Sam Bennett, and Interior Designer Deani Pahl, owners Melissa Crossley and David Allison created a classic but elegant approach to their Low Country British Colonial home in Old Town, Columbus.
After a long search for the perfect lot in Green Island Hills, the homeowners found a beautiful waterfront property within an existing home. They immediately knew it was the perfect location to remodel into a French Provincial style home, which are characterized by straight symmetrical lines and with an interior which is typically softer, with curved lines and lots of textures from materials like linen, wood, wrought iron and stone.
